The power of advertising

Danish television is currently airing a Gears of World ad featuring war torn buildings, full automatic assault rifles, and galactic mega spider monsters, all to the sound of “Mad World”.

I didn’t really know the song before I heard it in the Gears of War ad, so I went to the iTunes Store to see if I could locate it. Lo and behold, there it was, as the top song on the danish iTunes Store: “Mad World (from Donnie Darko)”.

Seems like advertising does work. Heck, I’d even like to have the game as well (oh yeah, and the XBox 360 that goes with it).

Xbox 360 Premium is 2599,- at Elgiganten.

Gears of War is 399,- at them as well.

That’s a pretty good deal, especially considering that an official X360/Gears bundle hits stores tomorrow - priced at 3595,-.

3000 DKK is fairly much for a game, though - even if it’s less than 3600 ;)

Does the fact that you’ve never heard “Mad World” before mean that you’ve never seen Donnie Darko? If so, we should make up for it! I’ll grab that DVD right out of the box and run all the way over, to stuff in your player, and tie you to the couch! Screaming “watch it, watch it, watch it!”. That movie is excellent!

You can save quite a few bucks buying the xbox premium from ebgames. Its a bit tricky, but do as follows:

Buy a cheap ps2 (newer model). They have 20% discount on PS2 in ebgames. Buy it along with 12 crap titles. Combine this with their 1599 dkr offer for the xbox premium. In exchange for a PS2 (the one you just bought cheap) and 4 excellent titles or 12 bad titles, you’ll will get the xbox premium to 1599 dkr. And gears of war is another 250,- (400 dkr normal) in this offer

If you dont have any PS2 or any titles you will save about 500 dkr. If you have the PS2 and titles .. well, do the math :)

And seriously - who is playing PS2 nowadays when you can go HD-quality on the Xbox. Auch.. Gears of War looks amazing on 130”.

i think that it was a waste of your time to make this site and a waste of my time to read it. i am look for things about bad advertising not this garbage of a website.
