I loathe the “High importance” flag in Outlook. I especially loathe that the sender can set it: “My email is much, much more important than whatever other puny stuff you’ve received”. How arrogant is that?

“This message was sent with High Importance”. Oh really? Guess what, I couldn’t care less. I prioritize my email and tasks myself, thank you very much.

Oh, and you, miss “I am so important the world collapses if I don’t get access to your site right now”, just got flagged low importance.

Or how about the folks who send email and ask for a read receipt. I always click "no" on that box, and then think..."oh good, now I can put that off and when they ask, I'll just say I never got the email." ;-)

It's a simple matter to create an Outlook rule that automatically changes a high importance flag back to normal, I did that so I don't have to look at them and get irritated.

You could just as easily tell Outlook to automatically delete every message that comes flagged with high importance, it would serve them right :)
