Keith told me to:

  1. Grab the nearest book.
  2. Open the book to page 23.
  3. Find the fifth sentence.
  4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.

From “Don’t make me think” by Steve Krug:

But from the dog’s point of view, all he’s saying is “blah blah GINGER blah blah blah blah GINGER blah blah blah.”

"Given the current $0.01 minimum price variation for quoting in NASDAQ-listed issues, the default value for this field is "B"."

Yep, I'm reading your blog in the office :)

hello from washington, dc...
i was interrupted the other just as i was to begin the "page 23" project and according to my intructions one's supposed to grab the nearest six consecutively aligned books, open each to page 23 and write the fifth sentence of all books in order thus creating a sort of short story... it really doesn't make much sense to just quote the fifth sentence on the twenty-third page of any random book, i reckon. it'd be kind of fun to have a look round the web and see who many have this wrong, but perhaps more interestingly, find out the other possible variations that could have also developped! ;-) cheers.

I haven't been able to trace any different instructions than the ones I have posted, but I can't trace the path all the way back to it's origination. Check Tracking the original page 23 for the details.

'Not a great deal, to be sure," agreed Bessie "At any rate, beauty like Miss Georgiana would be more moving in the same condition"
